Now Is Kairos Time

Psalms 65 verse 11 reads:

Thou crownest the year with thy goodness; thy paths drop fatness.

Expect a mighty move of God. Double blessings are on the way. Step up your game and claim them.
Be creative, positive, productive. The time for passivity is past.

Thank you, Bishop House, for your obedience, example and encouragement in 2011. We look eagerly toward the vision manifest and multiplied in 2012.

Chip, Chip

Was going to call a friend to celebrate a matrimonial breakthrough but decided to right-size the episode and lie down till it passes as all things domestic are wont to do, hence the blog’s title. Think of a bird, breaking through its shell, high above ground level and you’ll be closer to scale.

Rather than breakthrough, I can say I may have been treated to ring-side seats in a moment during which the human and divine coincided. Now, before you protest that such things happen all the time, allow me a single, ‘yes, but’. When in fact was the last time you were privy to such a coincience? My point, precisely.

All I’m saying is I was awake and mindful as it happened. Not exactly what one might call ‘flow’ but not an altogether different species of experience either. Perhaps at more advanced levels of spiritual warfare one isn’t relieved when the dust begins to settle, but here, in the infantry, we sag ever so slightly when victory over self is declared.

Casting Down Imaginations

The devil is a liar for we live and move and have our being in El Shaddai, the Almighty Self-Suffient and Renewing God whose children, you and I, have His DNA, authority and grace; walk by faith and not by sight and with His mercies are renewed every morning. I plead the healing, cleansing, transforming blood of Christ Jesus over your life and body and mind, which are His, and, in the name of Jesus come against the the spirit of infirmity, touching and agreeing with the Holy Spirit that you are now and henceforth every whit whole. Together we confess and believe it, declare and receive it, counting it already done, in the matchless name of Jesus,. As Daughters of Abraham by faith, we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us – we are who God says we are, have what God says we have – amen.

Mission Possible

Had an unexpectedly wonderful lunch with a genuine human being today. It was unexpected because it was a timeshare sales event. One of the friends who went with me did not have the same experience – not even close. Unless one considers public ridicule wonderful. My rep had not only time for detours but had personal anecdotes to contribute as we journeyed. She covered the required bases, answered my few questions, and broke down the benefits proposed. At first opportunity you can rest assured I will remember her humanity.

Excerpting Maxine Hong Kingston

In the Stephen Covey online community I set reading Kingston’s memoir-length poem as the reward for transcribing Dad’s letters to Mom. I completed the task a few days behind schedule in the first week of December. Today, the fourth week of the month, Day Two of the second full week of Winter Break, after drafting the Introduction and sending email links to the galley out for safe-keeping, I sit with Kingston’s volume in my lap having earned her lines with the sweat of my own.
She writes:
At Tiananmen Square, the man faced off the tanks with a bag of groceries in either hand, danced stepping side to side, tank moving side to side. A Chinese can dare anything, do battle, armed with bags of food.
A Jamaican, it turns out, can do battle with even less. The rumor of a worthy opponent will suffice.

It’s Yours

Heavenly Father, we are your people, children of the Most High, El Shaddai, Almighty God. The enemy is defeated, therefor he cannot use us against one another. Unions that glorify you are strengthened, those that don’t are dissolved and not even the smell of smoke remains when the battle is over. Thank you for making this Daughter of Zion, more than a conqueror, encouraging her heart and renewing her mind after that of Christ Jesus, for we know that they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength…and that when He shall appear we shall be like Him. Thank you, Lord, for making all things work together for good to those who are called according to your promise. Thank you for making us part of that remnant whose names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. Thank you for Holy Ghose power and purpose as we let go of the old, make room for he new, pressing toward the mark of Your high calling with joy, walking in authority with Your Son, the Light unto our path. In Jesus’ name we declare it is so, confess, believe, manifest and receive it, amen.
