When You Have To Jump

God’s got to catch you. Faith is not the result of coersion. It is an act of will. Oswald Chambers is keen on remimding one that given the right set of urgencies a hero can be born of a dullard. Willing your faith to rise to the occasion is another matter entirely. Jesus keeps His promises. We cannot coax Him onto our timetable and we dare not try to force His hand. Setting one’s life ablaze on purpose in hopes that a spiritual cavalry will rally is not an act of faith but of self. It is not an act of surrender but of self-aggrandisement. Whether you and I are dead or alive God will get the glory. The best thing to do is wait. And, while waiting, get closer to His Son. God never miscalculates. Neither should we. Wait on God.
