Failing Forward

Oswald Chambers reminds us:

The call of God is like the call of the sea, no one hears it but the one who has the nature of the sea in him.

It doesn’t mater where the call leads only that we follow. Jesus was indifferent to public opinion. Had he obeyed the Father only as far as onlookers or His disciples understood, salvation would be lost. What are the consequences if we turn aside and ignore His call and example? What happens to those whose lives are linked to ours?

Of course, we are likely to stumble, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, but as long as we continue failing forward we remain more than conquerors through Him that loved us.
