It sometimes happens that things turn out far better than one imagines. What would be lost if we prepared for the best? Even the slant of that question points to the issue. What would be gained! For one thing, lots of preemptive emotional energies would be spared and could be invested in celebration. Days would be infinitely shorter waiting for the good anticipated to come instead of dreading the feared ‘inevitable’ disappointment. I intend, from this day forward, to be the person I’ve never met, the person who plans and prepares for the very best possible outcome of every situation. After so many decades of preparing for the worst, I think I’ve got something to lose and something to learn.
This blog was inspired by two phenomenal portfolios submitted by ENG 223 students. One in the format of a You Tube video and the other as a website. Right on!
